Our Last Dateiversary

Since I recently got a job, our plans to go away for our 7th and last dateiversary/ my birthday had to be rescheduled. So we changed out hotel reservations, and headed to Atlantic City for an early celebration. We had a few wonderful and relaxing days. The first day we spent some money in the Harrah’s casino where we stayed and then headed over to Caesars and Bally’s. Mr. ATC actually lost his phone in Bally’s, which sucked, but he is pretty much over it since his phone was broken anyway. We went back, but it was already gone and the lost and found was closed for the night. When we went back the next morning lost and found didn’t have it.

That first night we ate at Longhorn where I had the most delicious filet, and Mr. ATC had ribs. A pretty normal steakhouse dinner but set the expectations for the rest of the trip food wise. We LOVE to eat, and I love trying new foods and new restaurants; especially when we travel. We slept in the next morning and went to starbucks expecting free wifi, but they didn’t have any. WTH!? Well we enjoyed our coffee and then headed outside to take a few pictures.

Then we headed back to the casinos where we had a snack since it was late and we planned on eating at the buffet for dinner. We also drove to the boardwalk that day since we didn’t have a very good experience with the shuttle service. So we drove back to Harrah’s and made reservations for dinner. Since Mr. ATC is in grad school we spent a few hours reading in our hotel room before dinner. The buffet was enormous but overall not worth the $30 per person. Luckily we had a Buy one get one coupon. We shared a steak that was overcooked and chewy. Mr. ATC called me spoiled because I didn’t like it since I had just had filet the night before. The best thing they had was the mac n cheese, which I definitely ate in excess. The dessert bar was impressive which was the only thing that saved the meal beside the mac n cheese.

Our Beautiful room:

Nice king size bed that I miss. We are definitely buying a king when we buy a house

Enjoyed a beautiful sunset on our second night

The next morning we took advantage of the gorgeous pool before check out and then headed to my Aunt’s who lives in NJ and on our way home. We also stopped in at Michaels for a quick look to kill some time and I found cards and envelopes in the dollar bin that I’m going to use for Thank You Cards. AND their stamps were 40% off so I got some great cancellation stamps that I’ve been eyeing for a future project.

Overall, it was a very relaxing and much needed getaway and I highly recommend spending some time together appreciating your relationship during the hectic planning process.

How did you celebrate your last dateiversary?
